Le Fort Fractures
- May Involve the maxilla and any or all other bones of the midface
- Maxillary fractures are the least common type of facial fracture
- May be associated with profuse nasopharyngeal bleeding
- Le Fort I - Separates the maxillary alveolus at the lower margin of the piriform aperture & extends through the maxillary sinus
- Le Fort II - Separates a pyramid shaped segment of midface from the upper craniofacial structures
- Le Fort III - Craniofacial disjunction
